Little Bit of Heaven Adoption Referral Service was founded by Betty Graham Smith, born from both personal experience and a deep passion for helping others build their families. After spending two long and emotional years waiting and trying to adopt her daughter, Chenise, Betty gained firsthand understanding of the challenges, uncertainties, and hopes that adoptive families face.
Following her journey, Betty began working with a licensed agency in Ohio, where she was able to see the other side of adoption—the side that many hopeful adoptive parents never get to experience. Through this, she recognized a significant need for licensed agencies to provide birth mothers with more choices and better connections when it came to placing their children.
With that vision in mind, Little Bit of Heaven Adoption Referral Service was created—starting humbly in Betty’s own laundry room. What began as a small, heartfelt effort to make a difference has grown into something truly meaningful.
Now, 21 years later, and with hundreds of happy families formed, Little Bit of Heaven continues to thrive. It stands as a testament to what dedication, compassion, and lived experience can build—offering guidance, connection, and hope to families on their adoption journey every single day.
